Taylor's basketball experience was much different than Ethan's. Taylor actually had fun. Was it because she has a passion for basketball? I think not (I can only wish). It's because her best friend, McKenzie, is on her team and all her other friends are playing basketball. She did a good job considering she's half the size of most the girls. She shot the ball twice and dribbled once. Not too bad, eh?

Critter Pencils
My wannabe crafty self has been hard at work. I am the primary chorister at church and am in charge of birthday gifts for the kids. I took some ordinary scripture pencils turn them in to critter pencils...hopefully the kids will like them!

Ethan's First Basketball Game
When do you push and when do you give? I asked Taylor and Ethan if they wanted to do basketball a couple of months ago. Both said yes. December rolls around and it's time to start practices. Ethan says, "Forget it....I'm not going.". Do you throw away the $40 and not make him, or say back, "Uhh, yeah ya are - get your butt in the car!"? Well, we opted for the latter, but I would like to think I told him in a nice, sweet, loving tone. He hasn't liked it very much and says it wastes his energy that he needs to reserve for more important things. Well, today he had his first basketball game. He was absolutely petrified! He did a great job running up and down the court but didn't want anything to do with the ball. Toward the end of the game, he actually touched the ball twice - though it was on accident. I told him how proud of him I was (though my inner professional basketball self wanted to do a 5 mintue recap of all the basic rules) and asked him if he had fun. He said, "Hummm, maybe a little bit....how many more of these do I have to do?"

I'm A Dork!
I have no idea what I am doing! Hopefully this will be fu
n and not make me want to pull my hair out! I guess I'll start with our trip to Kellogg, Idaho. I know, don't laugh. It sounds like it's in the middle of nowhere...well it is! And we loved it! We went over New Years - we played in the snow, went skiing and enjoyed the mountains! This was one of our favorite trips! Ok, I can't get these pictures where I want them....they're all over the place.
